Our Hearing Healthcare Services
Hearing Tests
Focus Hearing offers professional and independent hearing health services, including full diagnostic hearing tests. Patients found to have a hearing loss are supported, and time is taken to explain the next steps and the options and choices available to them. And, if testing reveals the need for further investigation, a comprehensive report will be sent to their GP.
This is in contrast to some hearing clinics that offer a so-called ‘free’ hearing test to get you through their doors. Usually, this is a basic 15-minute ‘screening test’ that could result in incorrect results and unnecessary recommendations.
Focus Hearing allocates one hour for hearing test appointments to ensure there is plenty of time for initial discussions to understand your hearing challenges and determine your hearing needs. The appointment will also include a comprehensive visual inspection of the ear, a hearing assessment, speech-in-noise testing and, finally, a thorough explanation of the results and recommendations.
Hearing Aids
As an Australian-owned, completely independent hearing aid and audiology clinic, we have been assisting Australians to improve their hearing for over two decades. By being an independent clinic, we are not affiliated with or owned by a hearing aid manufacturer, unlike many of the large retail chains that are operating in Australia.
Our pricing and fees are the same across all hearing aid technology levels and brands, so you can be confident in the knowledge that when we recommend a specific hearing aid solution, we are doing this because we consider it to be the most suited to your hearing test results and lifestyle.

Earwax Removal
Whilst a small amount of wax is perfectly normal and a sign of a healthy ear canal, some people have an overproduction of earwax or the physical size of their ear canals does not allow the wax to move out of the ears naturally. As a result, earwax accumulation can become a problem that needs attention from a hearing specialist.
At Focus Hearing, we use a procedure called microsuction to remove earwax, which is the favoured technique for wax removal by trained audiologists and ear specialists (ENTs) because of its effectiveness and safety. It uses a light suction method to remove the earwax from the canal without the use of messy liquids (as used in ear syringing) or discomfort.
Tinnitus Assessments
One in six people experience tinnitus or ringing in the ears, although it does not have to be ringing. It can be any noise or sound that an individual hears that has not come from the immediate environment they are in. Tinnitus can be very intrusive for people who experience this condition.
The treatment for tinnitus depends upon the cause, of which there are many. Focus Hearing offers full tinnitus assessments to determine the cause of your tinnitus. Our audiologist will then explain your results to offer options on what can be done to help reduce your tinnitus symptoms.
